The Social Order
Today, the social order is crumbling—blindly so. People are consumed solely by the pursuit of academic degrees, indulging in fanciful daydreams; they act as if they have conquered the world the moment a handsome monthly paycheck lands in their hands. Is this truly a specimen of an educated society? There is no mindset grounded in sound principles, no judgment rooted in healthy values; it seems as though everything is being thrown into utter confusion.
We are pushing the realm of education to the brink of destruction. We are toying with the future of our children and youth, all while spouting grandiose rhetoric—words we have merely learned to parrot. We act as though we possess all the answers.
We have become preoccupied with nothing but blaming one another.
Have we ever stood before a mirror and truly reflected on what it is we desire—on who we truly are? We are afraid to speak to, or even stand before, our own reflection. We fear seeing our true selves, for we know that—in this state—we will never change. We have left those who represent the future—the generation of tomorrow—languishing in darkness; this, it seems, is our sole achievement.
We are Bengalis—but Bengalis of what kind? Are we even human? We have failed to become truly human, and it seems we never will.
What more is there left to say?
